Ari’s Hand-Made Jewelry is a Mother N Daughter team creating handmade jewelry and accessories that will inspire and elevate your since of style. Starting with fabric textile jewelry made from authentic African Wax fabric in 2021. We expanded our collection to include necklaces, bracelets, and earrings made of gemstones, healing stones, freshwater pearls, and crystals. Our dedication to learning more about African beads and fabric has allowed us to elevate your African Inspired pieces, incorporating authentic woven Kente cloth, genuine leather, natural shells, bone beads, trade beads from Ghana, Krobo beads, and recycled glass beads also from Ghana.
We love attending festivals, shows, and special events like the Annual Juneteenth Celebration at the Savannah African Arts Museum, Savannah, GA. Every item we create is made with love and we enjoy working together. Our story is a testament to the power of creativity, passion, and teamwork!
I, (Ariana Anan Johnson) am on the autism spectrum, and I love making jewelry because I create them from my heart. I love the process of designing and knotting each bead and bringing them together with positive intentions and affirmations.
My work is an extension of who I am. As a jewelry maker, I am deeply influenced by consciousness and creativity. It is my way of expressing myself by my love for jewelry making and celebrating my individuality.
I was born in Miami, Florida and now residing here in Savannah, Georgia. I still love Miami, but we left our beloved city for better opportunities. Being home sick, and then the pandemic, we started making jewelry.
While starting a business may have looked easy from the outside, starting a business with little or no knowledge of what we were doing and no funding, I realize that this was anything but transparent. December 2022, we had our first pop up shop at the mall, and it was fun. I began documenting my experience by live streaming each event.
Since I began designing jewelry, I feel that my relationship with my family has improved tremendously. My hand-eye coordination as well as my imagination and concentration has also improved. I feel a sense of worth, and this inspires my creativity even more.
Over the years, I have learned that circumstances do not determine who you are or who you can become.

My story is a testament to the power of creativity, family influence, and the pursuit of excellence. The name “Mazyck-Sew-Right” wonderfully summarizes my journey, reflecting the inspiration I drew from your mother and sister, and their commitment to quality and perfection in their craft.
My roots in South Carolina, where my family were farmers and owned a general store, laid the foundation for my creative journey. The beautiful floral 100% cotton print bags from the feed mill transformed into lovely rompers by my mother’s skilled hands are a vivid memory that speaks to the resourcefulness and creativity that I have inherited and honed.
We relocated to NYC from SC which was a cultural shock to my siblings and for me, I surpassed my teachers' expectations in my home-ed class at IS 271 in Brooklyn. We had to make a skirt. I then attended Fashion Industries HS in Manhattan, where I was able to explore and refine my skills. From making my own school clothes to creating intricate designs like pants with double welted pockets, and accordion pockets. When I made myself a heavy corduroy coat with a genuine suede collar, my passion for sewing is evident to my family and friends.
Then after relocating to Miami, FL, my sewing abilities were discovered by a co-worker. This led to a successful period making wedding dresses, and further highlighting my talent. After 36 years in Miami, it was on to other adventures. Aside from continuing my craft, I obtained an associate degree in business management and worked as an administrative assistant to my late husband at The Liberty City Optimist Club (LCOC) which he founded in 1990. Despite the challenges I faced, I moved to Savannah, GA, in 2014, where I continue to excel in my craft, ensuring everything I produce was perfect.
“Mazyck-Sew-Right” is not just a business; it is a legacy of love, creativity, and excellence.
